Skin tags, also known as acrochordons, are painless, protruding harmless skin growths typically found on the neck, cheeks, eyelids, or underarms. They occur due to friction and hormonal factors, more commonly in diabetics, older adults, peri menopausal women , and overweight individuals. They are benign and don’t pose health risks. Removal is optional and can be done through procedures like electrocautery or radiofrequency excision by a dermatologist, as creams are ineffective.
