Moles

Moles are raised, dark skin lesions that can appear at birth or develop later. They are typically benign and stable over time.

Concerns:

  • New moles appearing suddenly.
  • Existing moles increasing in size.
  • Pain, bleeding, or ulceration of a mole.
  • Irregular or asymmetrical borders.

Action:

  • Consult a dermatologist promptly. We use specialized dermoscopy to assess moles for suspicious features and can remove them if necessary.

Removal Methods:

Depending on the case, we remove moles using:

  • Electrocauterization
  • Radiofrequency excision
  • Surgical excision with minimal scarring under local anesthesia
After removal, we examine the mole microscopically to confirm it is benign.
